The Hymans Robertson Foundation was established in 2016 as the principal means of charitable giving for Hymans Robertson.
The Foundation’s aim is to make a difference to the lives of people and communities in the UK facing disadvantage, with particular focus on helping to secure better futures for disadvantaged young people. Our focus is in 4 locations: Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and Birmingham.
We live our values: Friendly, Partnering, Impactful, Connectors which guide us in our relationships, approach and governance.
The Foundation has two core campaigns:
- Secure Financial Futures – improving the financial futures of disadvantaged young people by supporting the delivery of financial capability and employability skills training via strategic charity partnerships
- Communities – supporting long-term local community projects aimed at improving the lives of those in need
The Foundation grew out of a project established by Hymans Robertson in 2013, funded by profits from the firm, to support financial education for young people furthest away from employment. Initial projects were run in partnership with Tomorrow’s People, Mencap and TLG, with delivery supported by volunteers from Hymans Robertson. We now provide longer-term funding for a range of charity partners across the UK, supporting young people with education, employability and financial education programmes. Please see Who we support for information on our charity partners.
In 2019 we launched a revised strategy and strengthened our purpose and structure with the appointment of our first Chief Executive Officer.
We support organisations that provide vital employability and financial skills training for young people facing disadvantage, to help them into work and on to a better future. We encourage people at Hymans Robertson in their fundraising and volunteering, by offering matched funding, supporting volunteering and facilitating engagement between them and our charity partners.
